TV Show: Scrubs

OK, I'll admit that I am very late to the party on this one, but my generous coworker has (again) shown me the light and hooked me up with the TV show Scrubs. Let's just say that I stop watching it at work, because I was trying to hard to not laugh out loud. (so now I am watching it at home laughing out loud - currently meandering through Season 1).

Entourage: S4 to be Released this Summer

Finally! After patiently waiting , Entourage: Season 4 will finally be released on DVD August 26, 2008. Sadly, this show (like many others was hit hard by the writers strike, so there are not a lot of episodes for Season4). However, it seems that production for Season 5 started in April 2008, but due to the writers strike will start being shown in September 2008 instead of June.

Euro2008 Starts Today!

After many months of waiting and qualifying ( and the disappointment of England not qualifying), the Euro2008 tournament starts today. Another month of solid soccer watching on tap.

Heroes: S2 Released? (On Blu-Ray?)

The stars must truly be aligning. This past weekend, one of my coworkers whom I have been bugging forever to get on the Blu-Ray train finally succumbed and purchased a Blu-Ray player (of course I missed the post, so now I'll be the one receiving the ribbing ) and now rumor has it that Season 2 of Heroes will be released on DVD in August 2008. And in even more good news, Heroes: Season 1 and Heroes: Season 2 will be among Universal's first releases on Blu-Ray. Yes!
Incidentally, Season 3: Villains starts September 2008.

TV Show: Big Bang Theory

One of my coworkers tipped my off to yet another awesome TV show: The Big Bang Theory. One of my favorite lines so far is by Leonard (setup: Penny's ex-super-macho boyfriend sees Leonard {who is dressed up as Frodo} kissing Penny during a Halloween party):

Yeah, you saw what you saw. That's how we roll in the Shire.

Another one of the priceless scenes is where Penny is helping Leonard pick out a suit to wear for a conference that he is presenting a paper at. The funny part of it is I can easily imagine my sister and niece playing the role of Penny and me playing the role of Leonard.

(Minor Note: Interesting article by a physicist on some fellow physicists reaction to the show and why such critisicm might be off the unwarranted.

4400: Season Four DVD Release Date

Just heard that the fourth (and final *sob*) season of The 4400 has been announced on DVD on May 6th, 2008. Needless to say that I will miss this series greatly.

Update (5/28/08): I must be terribly lax on the home consumer front, because it took me close to a month to finally pick this up, but better late than never.

Heroes: S1 Released

At last!! Heroes: S1 has been released on DVD and of course, I was in line to plunk down my hard-earned, ahem, gift certificates.
At least, I'll be able to free up some room on my DVR (I have about 6 unwatched episodes).
Incidentally, Season 2 starts September 24th.

Hooked on Entourage Series

Somehow, I have gotten hooked on the Entourage series. I am surprised myself, since I was sure that I would never get hooked on this type of series, but the very sharp writing is top-notch. The series manages to avoid cliches (which would be very easy to slip into with this subject matter) and manage to make the view sympathize even with characters that one would normally despise. I have made it through almost the first two season (and am trying to borrow the third season from my co-worker since my ordered copy won't arrive for another week ).

According to my co-worker, I need to get hooked on Arrested Development as well ("which is the best series on TV").

Update (6/13/07): Both Amazon and my co-worker came through and I am now watching Entourage: Season 3 and also have all three seasons of Arrested Development ready to watch as well. !

New Joost Version Available

There is a new version of Joost available (version 0.10.1) that has a number of upgraded features (being able to invite an unlimited number friends from within the application, for one). On a related note, there is evidently a signup page where you can request an invitation (evidently there are 10,000 available).

(Note: If you are running the old 0.92 version, you will be forced to upgrade to the new version).

The 4400: Season 3 on DVD

Picked up my copy of The 4400: Season 3 DVD. Now I'll just have to make sure that I get through all of the episodes before Season 4 starts up on June 17th, 2007.
I don't foresee a problem accomplishing this.

Heroes on DVD in August?

Over at the Digitals Bits Rumor Mill, I read that my current favorite TV series, Heroes is rumored to be coming to DVD in August 2007. Yeah!

Update (5/26/07): According to TVShowsOnDVD, the tentative release date for Heroes: Season 1 is August 28, 2007.

The 4400: Season 4

Straight from The 4400 Wiki site, it looks like 4400: Season 4 starts in June of 2007. On a related note, it looks like the 4400: Season 3 DVD release is scheduled tentatively for May 8th, 2007.

All I can say is thank goodness that the NBC series Heroes.
is back on the air - I was going through withdrawal.
And it goes without saying that the new episode was awesome!
