| As many Mac users know, it has been hard getting Java 1.6 support under Leopard and even harder getting it to be the default JavaVM and even harder to get applications to run with it. One of those applications is the widely used Java IDE Eclipse. Fortunately, after tons of searching, I wandered across this web site with had a workaround for getting Eclipse working with the old Java 1.5 VM while keeping the Java 1.6 VM as the default. Basically, you need to modify the eclipse/Eclipse.app/Contents/Info.plist file and uncomment the following line (to force Eclipse to use the 1.5 JavaVM): /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5.0/Commands/java |
