Finally took the plunge (again) - Part II....

After much hand-wringing and procrastination, I have finally pieced together my new dream computer (courtesy of Newegg, an online computer parts store). I must admit that Newegg has to get high points for service -- I placed my order on Friday AM and Newegg had shipped it out by Friday PM. :-)

The specs on the new dream machine are:
  1. Antec Sonata Case w/ 380W True Power
  2. ASUS A8N-SLI nForce4 (939 Chipset) Motherboard
  3. AMD Athlon 64 3800+, 512KB L2 Cache, 64-bit Processor
  4. Kingston (2) 512 DDR Memory
  5. Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM Hard Drive
  6. ATI Radeon X700 Pro 256 MB Graphics Card
  7. NEC 16X Double Layer DVD±RW Drive
  8. Sony 52x32x52x16 Combo DVD Drive
  9. Sabrent 16 in 1 USB 2.0 Internal Memory Card Reader & Writer
Maybe it will be fast enough for me to be able to edit a Word document or two... ;-)

{Now I just have to cross my fingers and make sure that none of the parts arrive DOA :-) ).
